Yeah I knew that but Overeem is a totally different fighter now IMO. Yeah I didnt understand that either, how big of an impact do you think Bigfoot is gonna have in the UFC? I know he beat Fedor but Im not sure how to judge that anymore but I think hes a really good fighter he will make a big splash in heavyweight
Yeah Overeem now v. 2006 is like two completely different fighters. Back then he was a smaller HW who had good striking but it wasnt very refined and he always gassed. He may still gas, we dont know since he hasnt been outta the first round in an MMA fight in over 5 years, but his strength adds an incredible power to his excellent technical striking. Not to mention he is a very, very good grappler who won Europe ADCC at one time. Im a huge Reem fan as well, I hope he holds up well so we can see him take on some of the elite SF/UFC HWs.
I believe Bigfoot is a solid, top 10 fighter but wont be a champ in a deep HW pool. I believe he beats guys like Nelson, Mir, etc.. but loses to Cain, JDS, Overeem.
Werdum beat him like three fights ago but it wasnt impressive and it was all boxing. It was actually a boring fight with lots of clinchwork and Werdum won a really close decision but I might favor Silva over him in a rematch.
I think the 3 HWs you listed are the only ones thatll beat Bigfoot but yeah hes going to be a high level gatekeeper. I cant wait to seem Overeem in the UFC and I hope he ends up HW champ he seems to have as much talent and skill as anybody and there really arent any big holes in his game
